Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Subgrantee Adolescent Literacy Regional Meetings

What: A day of regional learning and discussion to explore the adolescent literacy component of Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement. Led by Ohio Department of Education’s Adolescent Literacy Specialists, participants will explore the definition of adolescent literacy and how to create a culture of learning to promote increased literacy outcomes for all adolescent learners. Presenters will provide an overview of content area literacy, disciplinary literacy and individualized intensive interventions focused on literacy. Participants will engage in activities to address adolescent literacy achievement across all three tiers of instruction.
Who: Leadership teams from Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy subgrantees. We recommend: superintendents, curriculum directors, building administrators, literacy coaches and teacher leaders for each district team as well as SST/ESC literacy staff.
When: See schedule below for a training near you. Register early as the sessions will also be opened to non-funded districts if seats are not filled within the first two weeks of registration. You only need to attend one location.
How: Register on STARS by using the Keyword adolescent. No registration fees.
